1.3 The Echo Applet

We redo the Echo example of the previous section as an applet, i.e., as a Java program that is invoked by a Java-enabled Web browser or by the appletviewer that belongs to the Java development environment. We will redo the example in two ways. The parameters to be echoed are passed to the program either via

a parameter in the Web page, or via
an input field in a graphical user interface.
