- The outdoor 3D-SLAM video of Erik Nelson seems to be based on his BLAM code (B(erkeley) L(ocalization) A(nd) M(apping)!.
- Would be nice to try it together with our Velodyne.
- The code is ROS Indigo based (Ubuntu 14.04).
- RoboStack only provides ROS1 Noetic and ROS2 Humble.
- My XPS13 has Ubuntu 16.04, so ROS Kinetic. The ROS Indigo package was removed 2021.
- I updated nb-ros from Ubuntu 12.04 to 14.04 in 2014.
- In 2021, I see instructions for the Realsense 200 based on a virtual Ubuntu 14.04 image.
- The code is based in GTSLAM, so could also try to use it directly.
- There are ROS2 velodyne drivers. Seems the code behind official documentation.
- There is ROS1 Velodyne tutorial. There is also a non-official ROS2 tutorial, combined with a Jetson Nano.
- Worked with Velodyne with ROS1 Noetic on 2024 (and used Tunis for the KUKA, which is also ROS Kinect).
- Velodyne should also work with RTAM-map, as observed in 2024.
- The most active fork is Naisy, which was tested on several newer version of ROS1 (including Melodic, even on a Jetpack).
-
- Started with ROS 2 tutorial.
- Yet, I don“t see the fixed ethernet connection. Tried both the Dell adapter as the KY-888.
- Strange, when a connect Nao v5 #17 it says it ip-address, but I cannot ping it.
