Lab Book
This lab book documents the work of Arjan NUSSELDER and Nadya PEEK as they teach the UMI RTX robot arm to draw emotions.
The plotter functionality was initially created by Folkert Huizinga and Bram Stoeller in 2005. Our plan is to adapt the plotter to a visualizer which will draw images which correspond to input given by a user via a text interface. The text they type will be translated into images by the UMI, the images being dependent on the emotional interpretation of the text. The result will be ambient drawings with no further purpose. But indeed, all art, including robot art, is quite useless.
