University of Amsterdam
About I am a PhD researcher in QUVA Deep Vision Lab, under supervision of Professor Arnold Smeulders. I received
my bachelor degree (BSc) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2013 from Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey and my master degree (MSc) in Signal Processing
from Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Finland in 2015. My master's thesis, which is on Unsupervised Anomaly Detection in unstructured system logs, was supervised by Professor Moncef Gabbouj.
Research interests My main interests lie in machine learning with application to computer vision problems. Recently, my focus has shifted towards one-shot instance search.
In general, I am keen on understanding the theoretical properties of deep learning.
Teaching I like to teach as I see it as a means of self-learning. I have assisted students in the following courses as TA:
- [2016 - MSc] Computer Vision 1, taught by Prof. Theo Gevers
- [2016 - BSc] Information Visualiation, taught by Dr. Stevan Rudinac and Prof. Marcel Worring
- [2016 - MSc] Deep Learning, taught by Asst. Prof. Efstratios Gavves and Prof. Max Welling
