software

  • Simsoar - An agent-based model to investigate soaring bird migration, coded in Matlab. Described in the paper van Loon et al. (2011)
  • Verhib - A linear model to derive historical vegetation composition on the basis of biomarker data, coded in Matlab. The model is described in the paper by Jansen et al. (2010)
  • ARES - Functions to calculate allelic richness for samples of different sizes, coded in R. The functions are described in van Loon et al. (2007). Danny Cleary and I are currently extending and improving ARES to a more general library to deal with sample-size differences in (various) richness calculations.
  • Mapcurves implementation - Mapcurves is a goodness of fit (GOF) measure to compare two categorical maps by Hargrove et al. 2006. The archive contains a Matlab function (which includes a demo option), an R function and a separate (R) demo script. The Matlab and R functions do exactly the same, but differ slightly with respect to the way in which the output is formatted. For background info about Mapcurves, see William W. Hargrove, Forrest M. Hoffman and Paul F. Hessburg (2006) Mapcurves: a quantitative method for comparing categorical maps. J Geograph Syst, 8, 187–208. DOI 10.1007/s10109-006-0025-x.
