In this setup the UDP tests only have been executed as reference measurements to check if the performance of the connection is in general terms acceptable. All tests had been run when there was still the intrinsic bottleneck of 8 Gbits/s. in the Cisco 6509 switch. These performance measurements has been executed by running six parallel UDP flows for a duration of 30 min. Also in these tests the Iperf V. 1.6.5 traffic generator has been used. The flows had been generated with a shaping bandwidth of 800 Mbits/s for each flow. The for UDP socket buffer size of 64 KBytes have been used. The used MTU was 1500 bytes.
The results of these tests were rather homogeneous and could therefore be shortly presented: in all cases the achieved bandwidth was 840 Mbits/s per flow and the # packets lost at each destination node was < 0.1%.
