Stewart platform

This is a model that I use for my robotics class. A normal antropomorphic robot has 6 joints in series; the Stewart platform has 6 joints in parallel. You may have seen the design in flight simulator platforms.

I get many questions about this model. To answer most of them, you can compose this model using Service Packages (though it is a bit of overkill): 6 of 5116 (small cylinder); 3 of 5289 (for the parts making up the spherical joints); 3 of 5165 (the hinges making the triangular frames); 3 of 5228 (small LEGO TECHNIC(r) bricks). These are available from your local Shop-At-Home services, or in good Lego stores.
