Session 4: Taxonomy part 1

In this fourth session, we look at different approaches to profile microbiomes in terms of the present taxa, using metagenomics read data. It comprises these topics:

• an introduction into the aims and particular requirements

• a touch of taxonomy

• a brief reminder of mapping of metagenomics reads

• a look at non-alignment based profilers

• how taxonomic profilers are benchmarked

• what we can do with this output
